Types of Smoothies you can Make in your Food Blender

Summer is finally here. That means beaches, BBQ’s, and ice cream. It also means a lot of wonderful smoothies! These are 6 of favorite quick, easy to make smoothies and it is hoped they will soon become your favorite as well.

Note: To make all of these smoothies, just blend the given ingredients in a regular blender.

1. Raspberry Refuler

Tired after a long day? This raspberry refuler packs a lot of energy into a great tasting smoothie. To make the best of it, drink it within 15 minutes of finishing a workout to get a great boost of energy and electrolytes.

1 cup diced mango
1 cup Gatorade (preferably orange)
1 frozen, chopped banana
1/2 cup frozen raspberries

2. Lose-Weight Peach

Are you looking for a delicious, satisfying smoothie that will also help you lose some weight? Look no further than this wonderful peach smoothie. It’s great tasting, yet low in both fat and sugar.

1/2 cup low fat peach yogurt
1/4 cup unsweetened apple juice
1 cup frozen blackberries
1/2 cup frozen peaches, diced
1 frozen banana, chopped

3. Brain Power

Drink this smoothie before a test or important day at work to power your brain into working better and faster. The key ingredient here is flaxseed oil which provides great Omega-3s.

1/2 cup whole-milk yogurt
1/2 cup frozen peaches, diced
2 tablespoons apple juice (you can go unsweetened here if you want)
1/2 teaspoon flaxseed oil

4. Stress Burner (Adults Only)

This smoothie is a great way to relax at the end of the day. You can also make a virgin version by just omitting the vodka. If you can’t find the cranberry-tangerine juice, you can use a 50:50 blend of cranberry juice and orange juice instead.

3/4 cup cranberry-tangerine juice
1/3 cup vodka
2 cups frozen peaches, diced
2 tablespoons frozen pineapple juice, from concentrate

5. Good-Night Tea

Instead of a glass of warm milk to set you to sleep, try this smoothie. The chamomile tea, honey, clove, and cinnamon help relax you and get you ready for bed.

1 1/2 cups orange segments
2 tablespoons frozen orange juice, from concentrate
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons honey
2 pinches ground cinnamon
1 pinch of clove
1 cup of strongly brewed chamomile tea, made into ice cubes and crushed

6. Peachy Party

This is the only smoothie on my list that doesn’t ‘do’ something for you, but it’s a great smoothie to serve up at a party. Peach flavor comes from not just one but three sources, so if you love peach, you are sure to adore this smoothie!

1 cup low-fat peach yogurt
1/2 cup unsweetened evaporated milk
1 cup frozen peaches, diced
1/2 cup peach sorbet
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch of ground allspice

No matter what your personal taste, smoothies are a great way to refresh yourself after a long day. They are easy to make and extremely versatile. Why don’t you come up with your own great ideas for smoothies and give them a go?
